3. What EF Consultancy does, and what it does not do
EF Consultancy provides free study abroad guides, EF Match and an AI assistant, and, when you ask, introduces you to a partner study abroad consultancy. The partner's counsellors provide consultations, application support and visa support.
EF Consultancy does not provide immigration advice or immigration services. We are not lawyers, financial advisers, a university or a government body. Visa support is provided by our partner consultancy under its own terms.
4. Information on this site
Our guides are general information. We last checked them in October 2026, but visa rules, fees and university requirements change often. Before you make a decision or apply, check the details with the official source, such as GOV.UK, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, the Australian Department of Home Affairs or the US Department of State, and with your university.
University rankings come from the QS World University Rankings 2027. Universities named on the site are examples you can apply to; they are not our partners and do not endorse EF Consultancy.
5. The AI assistant
The EF Assistant is an AI system. Its answers are generated automatically from our guides and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. It gives general information, not advice on your own situation, so do not rely on it alone for important decisions. Do not enter passport numbers, bank details or passwords. Memory is optional and is explained in our Privacy Policy.
6. EF Match
EF Match suggests countries using fixed rules based on your answers. It is a starting point for your own research, not a recommendation of a particular university and not a prediction that you will be offered a place or a visa.
7. Introductions to our partner consultancy
When you send the consultation form and agree to the introduction, we pass your details to our partner consultancy so a counsellor can contact you. Any services they provide are under their own terms and privacy notice. EF Consultancy is not a party to your arrangement with them, and is not responsible for decisions made by the partner, universities or governments.
8. Fees and refunds
EF Consultancy does not charge students and does not take payments, so there is nothing to refund. We may receive a fee from our partner consultancy when we introduce you; this never adds to anything you pay.
Application fees, deposits, tuition, visa fees and health surcharges are paid to universities and governments, and their own refund rules apply. If the partner consultancy offers a paid service, it must tell you the price and its refund terms before you agree.
9. Using the site
- Use the site lawfully, and only send information that is true and that you have the right to share.
- Do not send someone else's details without their permission.
- Do not try to break the site's security, overload the assistant, or copy the site's content with automated tools.
We may limit or suspend access to the assistant to protect the service.
10. Intellectual property
The text, design, logo, film and maps on this site belong to [to be added] trading as EF Consultancy, or are used under licence. You may view and share pages for personal use. University names and QS rankings belong to their owners. Map data comes from Natural Earth (public domain). Fonts and icons are used under open-source licences.
11. Links to other websites
We link to official and third-party websites for your convenience. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
12. Our responsibility to you
We take reasonable care to keep the site accurate and working, but we provide it for general information and cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We are not responsible for losses that come from relying on general information without checking it, or for business losses.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales. These terms do not affect your legal rights as a consumer.

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
